VMT Madeira - Catamaran Trips

On this 3-hour coastal trip it is possible to observe cetaceans as well as the sunset, and we make a short stop to swim at Fajã do Cabo Girão.

Meeting point: check-in is mandatory 30 minutes before each trip at our VMT Madeira kiosk — Cais 8, Funchal Marina (below Praça do Povo).

Good to know: sunscreen, a towel, swimwear and a windbreaker are recommended. The boats have toilets, a bar and a covered area for shelter from sun and rain.

A 3-hour trip in which you will have a strong chance of observing several species of dolphins and whales in their natural habitat — a unique moment of contemplation that you will hardly forget.

You may also have the chance to swim in the crystal-clear waters of Cabo Girão, one of the highest sea cliffs in the world (580 m above sea level). We carry snorkelling equipment on board for those who wish to glimpse the seabed in that area or, if you prefer, you can lie in our hammock while taking in the sheer scale of Cabo Girão high above. This is without a doubt a trip that every visitor to Madeira — and every local too — should take at least once in their life. A unique, relaxing and enriching experience to share with your family.

If we do not manage to spot any dolphins or whales, do not worry: we offer a second trip so that you have another opportunity to observe these species and all their magnitude in their natural habitat.

This is a seasonal trip (May to October) that runs only on Wednesdays and Saturdays, with a total duration of 9 hours. A transfer is made to Deserta Grande island for a short guided tour, where some of the island`s fauna and flora will be explained. These islands are home to countless wild species, both marine and terrestrial. It is possible to take part in some activities, such as stand-up paddleboarding and snorkelling.
