Vila Baleira

Located right by the beach, just five minutes from the town centre and the international airport, the Vila Baleira Resort was originally designed and built by a consortium of 50 German doctors who discovered the medicinal qualities of the island’s sands and envisioned a place that would welcome visitors from all over the world in an ambience of complete tranquillity.

The resort comprises three distinct and spacious areas: the main building, the Baleira Thalasso & Spa centre, and the outdoor leisure area.

The main building is your base from which to take advantage of the relaxation, well-being and enjoyment that the resort offers.

The Baleira Thalasso & Spa’s thalassotherapy facility is the largest in Portugal. All the thalassotherapy and spa treatments are provided in this independent structure dedicated to your well-being and which also features a fully-equipped gym and the Rheadive Diving Centre (PADI, SSI and DDI certified).

In the outdoor leisure area you will find the large swimming pool and the children’s pool, where a lifeguard is always on duty, as well as the children’s play area and dedicated club room, where our entertainment team is on hand to ensure your children have the time of their lives.

Here, too, you will find our ecological boardwalk giving you direct access to Porto Santo’s magnificent 9-km-long beach, where an area is reserved exclusively for the resort’s guests.

Every room in the Vila Baleira Resort is less than seven minutes from the beach.

The resort is 10 minutes from Porto Santo International Airport, and from the quay and harbour that serve the island.
