QUINTA DO ESTREITO VINTAGE HOUSE, ILHA DA MADEIRA

Quinta do Estreito is a beautifully restored Quinta hotel with a relaxing atmosphere, in lovely countryside just 15 minutes from Funchal and 40 minutes away from the airport.

The Quinta do Estreito is very elegantly decorated and tastefully furnished in warm colours with exquisite taste and great attention to detail. The main building has been lovingly restored and the south-facing rooms all have a large balcony.

The gardens comprise of an olive grove, a French garden, tropical plants and organic agriculture. The quinta also has a swimming pool and esplanade.

The hotel offers a free shuttle bus service twice a day to Funchal. A taxi stand is also nearby. The stop for buses to Funchal and towards the west of the island it is only a 5 minutes’ walk. There is also free parking at the hotel as well as an underground garage.

Beyond being a house, there were also other buildings, that during years were installed such as a grocery store and a water mill. During the 80's this house served as well as contest for the wine vintage festivities.

The Hotel was elegantly restored from a very important house dedicated to wine production in the past and still nowadays has its vineyards corridor spread all over the way to our Typical Restaurant Adega da Quinta.

The main house has been lovingly restored to become the Bacchus Restaurant, the Vintage Bar and the Library reading room on the top floor, affording breathtaking views. A swimming pool and esplanade has been built alongside and a cascade of 48 stylish rooms on the slopes below.

The wine barrels are still visible at Adega da Quinta and its possible to enjoy a Madeira drink.

All the 48 rooms are elegantly decorated with furniture refinement. All are facing the south with spacious verandas.

The beautiful gardens are composed by an olive garden, a French garden, tropical plants and organic agriculture.
